I'll probably be posting those photos tonight or tomorrow at some point, actually.

As far as why I did the suspension.. Well, it started as an anthropological participant observation for a research paper I was writing. Writing about it turned into wanting to visit New Orleans to actually view one happening which then turned into wanting to try it myself.

I haven't quite gotten to the point where I can successfully explain why I did it, but there was just something inside of me that absolutely KNEW I had to try it. I don't know why because I haven't done anything even comparable, but instinctively felt like this would be a life changing experience for me and surely enough, that ended up being the case. :)

ok, i remember seeing things about the native americans doing it in one of my books on them years ago, but never thought that people still did it :P
i wouldn't do it to be honest, it's a bit too much out of my comfort zone and the hooks look like meat ones which hang things in butchers, as much as i like the concept of body mod :P
look forward to seeing the pictures though :D

I went ahead and posted three pictures of Adair Pain hanging. But yeah, the Native American practice you are probably referring to is called Sundance Ceremony. I also can't blame you for not wanting to try, it's def not for everyone.
